Jolene

Weasel Popmeister says: Another easy win for young Trans Am with "Jolene" – a track from Cake's freshmen release Motorcade of Generosity. Cake has always been known as that rag-tag group of Northern California musicians responsible for sending waves of confusion throughout the prehistoric music industry in the 90's. At the time, those in "the industry" chose to pigeonhole Cake's original take on pop and laughably put them in that satellite genre of rock known as "alternative." While the dinosaurs spent their time scratching their heads, Cake showed everyone that pop music doesn't have to be mass produced rubbish. Winner!
